Day 1: Arrival – New Selo Village – Sabanna Campsite

Pick up from your hotel in Yogyakarta at 8am. You’ll transfer to Selo Village to meet our trekking guide at around 11am. 

11:00

Head to the base camp at Merbabu Mountain. You will have your lunch here. Meet with our porter team & check all preparation of the hike. After all checks have been done, you will start the hike to Mt Merbabu by Selo route.

Start the 5 hour hike. You will start walking from the elevation 1600m above sea level.

17:00

Reach Sabanna Campsite. You can rest and enjoy the beautiful sunset.

Day 2: Mount Merbabu Sunrise – Yogyakarta

Wake up early to catching the sunrise at the top of Mt Merbabu. Your porter team will serve you hot drinks & snacks before you start hike up.

Hike for 2 hours to the peak of the mountain. 

05:00

Reach the top (Kenteng Songo) and enjoy the sunrise from 3,142 m above of sea level with views overlooking Mount Merapi as well. Afterwards, you will return back to the campsite for breakfast.

Start your 4 hour trek down to Selo village. 

15:00 – 17:00

Drop off at your Yogyakarta hotel.
