Borobudur Temple, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and a stunning architectural masterpiece, is one of the most famous attractions in Yogyakarta. It’s also one of Java’s most beautiful temples and known as the largest Buddhist temple in the world.
In this tour, you will spend whole day to explore this world-famous temple and the village around. We will pick you up at around 3am. Is it worth waking up so early? Of course it is. The view you will get to behold is beyond your imagination. You will arrive at Borobudur just in time to witness the sun rise over beautiful Javan landscapes. Walk around the Batik Village around and cycle around the area.

Borobudur Full Day Tour
- 3:30am-3:45am: Pick up from hotel (i.e. if you book on 15th March, this means early morning 0330 on 15th March which means you are staying in the hotel on 14th March)
- 3:45am-5:30am: Travel to Borobudur temple. The journey will take about 1-2 hours estimated depending on where your hotel is.
5:30am-7:30am: Watch the magnificent sunrise from Borobudur temple. Explore the other temples in the grounds and take picture of this beautiful magnificent UNESCO site.
*Optional: Pawon and Mendut Temples (entrance fees excluded) - 7:30am-9:30am: Cycle around the temples after Borobudur sunrise tour. A unique concept that combines cycling and exploring villages near Borobudur Temple. Get some exercise and visit the temples and villages in a special way.
- 9:30am-11:30am: Visit Batik village, a traditional artform in various places across Indonesia. It is declared by UNESCO as a “Masterpiece of Oral and Intangible Heritage of Humanity”. In this experience activity, you can learn about each stage of the production process of this ancient and intricate art. Of course, you can also try to draw your own batik or purchase some as souvenirs.
- 11:30am-13:00pm: Depending on what time you finish, we will drop you drop off at your hotel.

This is the most popular itinerary among the customers. However, if you want to add, change or skip some attractions, we can customise itinerary for you. All the attractions and activities are optional, you can always skip if you don’t want to go. You can leave a note when you check out or tell our guide in the tour.
The entrance fees have various pricing i.e. foreigner, local rate, peak prices etc. It would be better that the customer pay on the spot depending on his/her nationality. Also, it will solve the refund issue if you choose not to go to the attraction when you are on the tour.

In general, the period between March till November are the best months to visit Indonesia. This is the period of the dry season.
With that being said, we recommend customers not to be too bothered by it because you are only here for a few days , it is no guarantee that even if you come in the dry season, it won’t rain or it will always be rainy during the monsoon season. We believe alot is down to luck. December/August are still the peak period of tourist in Indonesia.
