Yogyakarta is a bustling town of some half a million people and the most popular tourist destination on Java, largely thanks to its proximity to the temples of Borobudur and Prambanan. The town is a hub of art and education, offers some good shopping and has a wide range of tourist facilities.

This is a Day Tour Trip which cover 3 of the main Yogyakarta Attractions: Borobudur Temple, Prambanan Temple and Mount Merapi.

Day 1

Day 1 Best of Yogyakarta Attractions: Private Day Tour

  • Pick-up from hotel in Yogyakarta at 3:30am.
  • Arrive at the majestic Borobudur Temple around 4am to catch a beautiful sunrise and take amazing photos.
  • At around 7am, after having light breakfast, we will transfer to a bicycle so that you can cycle around the ruins of Borobudur. This activity will end around 10am and the cycling fees is excluded from the price.
  • Head to Merapi Kaliadem at around 10am. Witness the beauty of Mount Merapi as you explore the foothill of this active stratovolcano by jeep.
  • Hop on to a jeep to do a tour of the solidified lava of Mount Merapi. 
  • Have lunch around 1pm in the vicinity.
  • Transfer to Prambanan around 230pm
  • Visit Prambanan Temple, the largest Hindu temple compound in Indonesia and a UNESCO Heritage Site. Drop off at hotel accommodation at around 6pm. You can hang around here till sunset before heading back to the city. It takes 1 hour to go from Prambanan to the city.
  • Drop off at your hotel.

This is the most popular itinerary among the customers. However, if you want to add, change or skip some attractions, we can customise itinerary for you. All the attractions and activities are optional, you can always skip if you don’t want to go. You can leave a note when you check out or tell our guide in the tour.

The entrance fees have various pricing i.e. foreigner, local rate, peak prices etc. It would be better that the customer pay on the spot depending on his/her nationality. Also, it will solve the refund issue if you choose not to go to the attraction when you are on the tour.

We have included all that is needed except for :

The rest that is not covered will be your personal travel insurance, personal expenses like souvenirs etc

In general, the period between March till November are the best months to visit Indonesia. This is the period of the dry season. 

With that being said, we recommend customers not to be too bothered by it because you are only here for a few days , it is no guarantee that even if you come in the dry season, it won’t rain or it will always be rainy during the monsoon season. We believe alot is down to luck. December/August are still the peak period of tourist in Indonesia.
